  The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is a beautiful church located in downtown Lafayette, LA. The cathedral itself is an incredible structure of light colored brick with white accents. On the property is a massive 500-year-old oak tree with a canopy that stretches over 200 feet! The trunk is 28 feet around and has an interesting shape due to the winds that have slowly twisted it over the centuries. If you're in Lafayette, this is a wonderful destination for a quick stop or for a service.
