  The grand had a birthday party here Saturday and it was quite a lot of fun for the youngsters. The parents had a nice time, too. Bring your coats. It's chilly inside. Plenty of stadium seating for all, which is a nice way to keep a watchful eye on the kiddos. The party room was a nice size. We had the room for an hour but free to skate until our shins were begging for mercy. Ice skating is a serious cardio workout, people!! Concession stand. Little one can't skate? You can't skate? No worries. For $5 you can rent a glider guide (like a walker for ice) that will keep your bum from sliding on the ice. Planet Ice even offers ice skating lessons. Fun for the entire family. Dress appropriately though. Once again, it is chilly.

  So much fun. I took my son here years ago when they first opened, and they improved drastically. Previously for kids or beginner skaters you were given a metal folding chair to skate with to keep from falling down, now they have dedicated plastic ones that are much more stable. We went for a birthday party on a Saturday midday and it was quite busy, but not to the point of being unenjoyable. Pricing is very fair and the skates they offer are high quality hockey skates, not cheap plastic or figure skating style skates that you see at other venues. The adult skates are reebok with pump inflatable liners, and the children's are nice Bauer skates. My son and I skated for hours without experiencing any blisters or discomfort.
  Highly recommend this place if you're searching for something fun and different to do.
